Symposium on maternal health on 9.05.2025 in Berlin,
Review, exchange and new perspectives
On May 9, 2025 we look back together on 55 years of successful work and celebrate our achievements. At the same time, we are looking ahead: how can we tackle current and future challenges?
People who perform care work - especially mothers, but also fathers or family caregivers - need support for their physical, mental and emotional health more than ever. Our specialist event will address topics such as:
- Strategies to overcome outdated gender roles and images of motherhood that contribute to the unequal distribution of care work and exhaustion.
- ways to facilitate access to our services and to better reach mothers with a history of migration or flight.
The day will conclude with a relaxed get-together in the evening - an opportunity for networking and encounters.
We are expecting exciting guests, including the gender researcher Dr. Franziska Schutzbach, Basel and Dr. Gwladys Awofounder of LESSAN e.V., activist for overcoming gender-based violence and racism, Hamburg
On May 10, 2025 we are taking our demands for real equality to the streets - with the "100,000 mothers in front of the Brandenburg Gate" campaign. What is needed are framework conditions that enable mothers - as different as they are - to lead a good life. And not in 30 or 50 years' time, but NOW!
