From reading to networking

By Sabrina Hinz:

On October 26, Sarah Zöllner read from her book in Wörrstadt. „Mothers. Power. Politics.“ which she wrote together with Shirin Aura. This book really shifted something for me. From the old questions – „Why can't I manage to balance work and family life?“„Why is my time management not sufficient?“ – one thing became clear: it's not me who's inadequate. It's the system.
And with that, my energy shifted—away from self-optimization and toward systemic criticism and political action.

Through the networking platform for the book, I found allies very close to me, in Kirchheimbolanden. There, the Female Politics Network Angi Brabänder also organized a reading. So I simply went to the next network meeting. In Angi Brabänder and Manuela Bestier, I met two other mothers who are involved in politics and at the same time are in the midst of family life. Bringing children along was no problem—on the contrary, it opened up new encounters and little friendships.

When the initiative was launched 100,000 mothers in front of the Brandenburg Gate When it started, it was immediately clear to me: I want to be there! Mothers have so much power—and that power belongs in the political arena.
On May 10, 2025, I had to travel to Berlin alone, but the energy I felt there carried me and strengthened me. On the way back, I already knew that in 2026, I wanted to mobilize a strong group from Rhineland-Palatinate to travel to Berlin.

No sooner said than done. I registered for September 20, 2025, a 100,000 mothers rally in Mainz. I found support in the Female Politics Network. In addition to Angi Brabänder, Lisett Stuppy, mother and member of the state parliament, was also actively involved. Together, we mobilized parents from all over Rhineland-Palatinate across party lines—and in the end, more than 300 people took to the streets in Mainz to demonstrate for visibility, justice, and care work.

And now?
Stay tuned to see how many we bring with us from Rhineland-Palatinate to Berlin on May 9, 2026!

Best regards
Sabrina
