On May 10, 2025, 100,000 mothers gathered in Berlin to stand up for their rights and those of their families. The impressive demonstration showed how urgent social change is in the area of family and gender policy.
The route through Berlin
The demonstration started at 12:00 noon at Monbijou Park and led the participants through the historic center of Berlin. Via Oranienburger Straße, Friedrichstraße and Unter den Linden, they made their way to Platz der Republik - directly in front of the German Bundestag. This route led the demonstrators symbolically from the cultural heart of Berlin to the seat of political power.

The rally on Platz der Republik lasted from 13:30 to 16:00 and dealt with various topics:
After the opening speech and a musical anthem by Lavon/Shereen, Katharina Desery (Motherhood) spoke about "Health around birth". Ulrike Geppert-Orthofer from the German Midwives' Association presented the petition "Women pay the price".
Further contributions came from Serpil Unvar on "Youth & Society", an interview with Jutta Allmendinger on "Care & Justice", Britta J. on discrimination in working life and Fair Share on single parents. Christin Herrmann addressed structural violence and there was a contribution on "Invisible Generations & Responsibility".
Mme Privèe, Nanda Ben Chaabane ("Mother Different") and Faravaz Faradin accompanied the program with music.
The highlight was the presentation of concrete demands to politicians by the initiators.
