100,000 mothers go Rhineland-Palatinate

100,000 mothers go Rhineland-Palatinate - Mainz takes a stand!
On September 20, around 300 people - mothers, fathers, children and supporters - marched through the city center of Mainz in bright sunshine. They all made visible what is otherwise often overlooked: the strength and importance of care work.
The demo was initiated by Sabrina Hinz, who joined the demonstration in Berlin in May and was deeply impressed by the power of the movement. Her goal: to bring the campaign to Rhineland-Palatinate and to organize at least one bus with mothers and supporters from the country to the Berlin demo.
Family Minister Katharina Binz opened the event and confirmed this idea - perhaps even ten buses from Rhineland-Palatinate set off!
Speakers at the rally on Ernst-Ludwig-Platz included Antje Krause (co-initiator of the campaign), Franziska Helms (League for Unpaid Work, LUA), Juliane Müller (Rhineland-Palatinate Midwives' Association) and Birte Strack (Deputy Chairwoman of the German Women Lawyers' Association Rhineland-Palatinate).
The focus was on Maternal health, equal rights and the visibility of care work - Topics that connect and move.

Many thanks to Sabrina Hinz and everyone who made this demo possible - for organization, passion and courage.
What could be felt in Mainz was more than just a demonstration: it was Cohesion, strength and the unwavering spirit of mothers, that do not cease to remain visible.
